Creative Commons (CC) is an internationally active, non-profit organisation that provides free licences for creators to use when making their work available to the public. These licences help creators give permission for others to use their work in advance under certain conditions. Creative Commons licences make it easier for teachers to use content by removing complex copyright questions and concerns, enabling educators to reuse, remix and adapt resources (where the licence permits) and allowing these materials to be shared publicly. Creative Commons licences make it easier and safer for educators to use materials and provide choice and flexibility to the copyright owner in how they share their materials.
This section includes information sheets on where to find Creative Commons materials, how to attribute these materials and how to apply a Creative Commons licence to teaching materials.
